Cycling

Apart from the main A96 Aberdeen-inverness road there are many rural quiet roads to enjoy cyclin.  Alternatively you can drive to either The Speyside Way or the Forestry commission cycle tracks.  If you enjoy extreme mountain biking then there are plenty challenging hills to test your endurance.  Below is an example of various local cycling tracks:

Roseisle Forest>>>
Enjoy a cycle along one of the forest trails. As well as shorter circular walks, you can explore all the way to Burghead or College of Roseisle.  Roseisle also has a beautiful beach, barbecue area and childrens' play area.

Winding Walks >>>
Moray Monster Trails - Joined Up Monsters! Moray Monster Trails has been designed to work as three independent sites or for you to join them up in any way you want. All sites link to each other. For those with a truly monster appetite and stamina to match - try all three sites, end to end, Fochabers to Craigellachie. Winding Walks car park is the main access point for the trail network.

Ben Aigan >>>
Ben Aigan also offers three linked mountain bike trails. These can be accessed from the car park and include 'The Hammer', a red (difficult) route around the summit with big earth features and board walk sections, 'The Mast Blast', another red route with fast downhill sections and single track switchbacks and 'The Pink Fluffy Bunny', a black (severe) route for more experienced riders. A section of the Speyside Way follows a forest road round the west side of the hill.

Culbin Forest >>>
This car park gives access to informal walks throughout the forest and a link to the waymarked walks from Wellhill. A separate link leads to cycle trails heading west to Nairn.

Speyside Way >>>
Winding through the changing Speyside vallery, the route from Buckie to Aviemore, with spurs to Dufftown and Tomintoul, is a total distance of 84 milesTo view a map of the Speyside Way - click here
